I have traveled for 3 years already and of all the beaches I have swum, Bantayan Island remains number one in my heart. I’m serious. Bantayan Island is one of the must visit places in the Philippines.
Welcome to Bantayan Island 🙂
We started our trip early in the morning from North Bus Terminal. I think it was around 5AM when the bus engine starts to roar. Bus fare was around Php 150+. The end of the bus ride is at the Hagnaya Port in the town of San Remigio. From there we rode a boat. I forgot how much the fare was but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t expensive 😀 We stayed at Kota Beach Resort because of the SAND BAR. They offer cheap but fine accommodation. Our room costs around Php900 per night for 2 people, but it’s a fan room. No big deal.
What to do in Bantayan Island ?
First Stop: Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort
We charted a tricycle to bring us to the famous landmarks. And for this resort, we’re here to swim inside the cave. I forgot the name of the cave though 🙁
Next Stop: Kota Park
Uhmm, it was empty when we arrived here. Basically the only cool part is the looooong boardwalk. That’s all I guess.
Next Stop: Ogtong Cave Resort
Okay I must say that this famous cave is worth a visit. The water is crystal clear! Perfect for hibernating during summer. By the way, I think you must be a guest in this resort to be able to experience the cave. So what we did, we checked-in here as well. HAHA! I mean checked-in at the sister resort called Sta. Fe Beach Club. We got a 900 peso accommodation good for 3 person. Because it’s worth it.
Next Stop: Sta Fe Beach Club
Okay, so this is where we slept Saturday night. And this is what greeted us in the morning. Not bad.
Last Stop: Kota Beach
That’s pretty much my Bantayan Island escape. Will I come back? HELL YES! For Kota Beach accommodation, you can book through Agoda. Just click here. I highly recommend that you stay here when you’re in Bantayan, not for the accommodation but for the priceless fine-white-sand beaches and crystal clear water it offers.
