Are you a Harry Potter Fan? I bet you are! 🧙

I’m not a “potter-head” myself but my friend is. It’s her first time in Japan and Harry Potter Cafe is one of her wishes ✨ I have to say though, I’ve seen all the Harry Potter movies and I consider myself to be part of the House of Gryffindor (CHERET!! 😂 ) We did a last minute booking and we’re lucky we got a table. Everything just fell into place despite our hectic schedule.

It was a nice experience ❤️ But before I share with you how it went, let’s start with the basics first.

Our Experience ✨

I tried to book a table for us just 2 weeks before our arrival. We’re lucky there was a slot available on our chosen date but it’s for the last entry for dinner which was 8:30 pm. It’s late but what can we do?

On July 14, 2023, I arrived in Tokyo around 8 in the morning with no sleep. We did a couple of activities throughout the day before coming to Harry Potter Cafe. I admit I looked forward to our dinner, lol 😀

Sunset at Tokyo Skytree
Tokyo Skytree

After witnessing the sunset at Tokyo Skytree, we head over to Harry Potter Cafe finally! Getting the Tokyo Subway Ticket was very convenient! It’s specially made for tourists who want to explore Tokyo stress-free. You have the option for 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours of UNLIMITED rides on subways around Tokyo City for a cheap price. You can book your Tokyo Subway Ticket here. #ad

We arrived earlier than our schedule and got in line. But there were no other people in line actually so when the guy saw us, he just asked for our reservation number and confirmed it. After a few minutes, we were seated. The place was fancy. It’s not really that big and spacious but it definitely has a high ceiling. The Harry Potter details were exquisite. I loved it! <3

how to order at Harry Potter Cafe

We were given a tablet to order. It was in Japanese language but we manage thanks to the pictures! There we saw the allocated time we have for dining. Yup! you can’t stay there as long as you want 😀 They have a very creative menu though!

I ordered Breath of the Dragon Roast Beef (2970 yen including tax) and my friend ordered Owl service Sunday roast (2310 yen including tax). They also have non-alcoholic cocktails and for the sake of trying, we ordered 1 Expect Patronum (1430 yen including tax). We paid with a credit card.

So, how was the food? mmm regular 😀 I mean, I’m a carnivore, I know a nice beef when I eat one. It’s not really as amazing as the place itself. And for the price, (for me at least) it is expensive. But you know, as they always say, you’re also paying for the brand, the art, the copyright, etc. It was a lovely experience nonetheless. While the food did not live up to my expectation I still recommend this place. It’s worth trying, especially for the potter-heads 🙂

Please check the reel below to see our experience live in action and you’ll have a better idea of what I’m talking about 😀

Did you know?

They have a Take-out counter! I guess you can just buy from there if you weren’t able to book a table. They also sell Harry Potter memorabilia. You can buy at the store and also online. You may check here.

Tips and other important info

  • Official Website: https://hpcafe.jp/ – always check here for the latest update about Harry Potter Cafe
  • Since dining time is limited, I suggest you check the menu in advance online so that you won’t spend much time figuring out what to order when you’re seated and instead savor all the time on the experience itself. See the menu here.
  • If you can, arrive a little earlier than your schedule because if there’s a vacant seat, you will be accommodated early.
  • There’s an ENGLISH language option on the tablet upon ordering. We only knew it after we ordered🥲
  • We thought of ordering a set menu for both of us thinking we can save instead of ordering individually but the girl said that the set menu is just good for one 🥲 So just order individually 😀
  • ENJOY
