One of the interesting things to do when visiting Sagada is spelunking. And spelunking in Sumaguing Cave is the most famous among the tourists. Actually this activity should be mandatory in your itinerary. Our experience was one hell of an adventure.

SURVIVORS!

Spelunking in Sumaguing Cave Sagada

We started the activity in the morning. Honestly, I didn’t have any clue of what’s coming ahead. There were 2 male guides assigned to our group. They led us to the mouth of the cave while carrying the lamps and gave us safety instructions, the do’s and dont’s and most especially the bat-poops everywhere. When we were inside, I really thought that it’s just a small cave, until we passed through the “descent part” which was a steep slippery cliff. It was really challenging and messy because yeah we touched bat poops. Inevitable. Unless you wear gloves, which is a boring thing to do. And then there we witnessed the different beautiful rock formations and a variety of dipping pools which were very cold. They were amazing. The temperature inside is cold by the way to the point where we can see our breathe. And that people made me happy 😀

So this is what happened…

We had to capture this moment because jumping/going down from the top(see people above us) is not easy and scary.

What do you see in this rock formation? Don’t tell your mom.

Just goofing around. HAHA.

It took us quite some time to reach the end part of the cave so it is imperative to show off our bat-poop-filled hands

The experience was really not easy but it’s really fulfilling and worth it! More Sagada adventures here.

  1. I wouldn't dare go into any cave with just flip flops! At least you guys survived and looks like you had fun too! My sister went to Sagada for a field trip but she didn't like it, haha.

  2. Oh my! This looks so interesting but at the same time terrifying! I do not think I could go inside… Im even scared of the ones at disney and they are made of plastic! :S
    xoxo
